This course is a long sprint of practicing Chinese daily. Many of us might not be used to practicing Chinese on a daily basis. Here's some tips on how to reduce the stress and time it takes to participate in this class.
- Chat with the teacher 1-on-1. She is a full-time employee, and she available throughout the day to help. There's no limit on how much you can chat with her. Send her as many text, audio and video messages as you please. (But as a courtesy, please refrain from messaging her privately after 9pm)
- Answer at least 1 question. If you only have time to answer 1 question, just answer that 1 question.
- It doesn't have to be perfect. Say what you can, and try again the next time.
- Use English if you have to. We often are missing a few key vocab words to express our stories well. That's OK - throw in the English words if you have to. Our teacher will fully understand and help you fill in the gaps. This helps us prevent us from getting stuck on a certain sentence.
- Maximum of 1 hour a day. Since we're doing this daily, if we spend more than an hour each day, we'll burn out quickly. Keep track of your time, and once the hour is up, just send what you have.
- Keep your responses between 30 s - 1min 30s
- Try again tomorrow. Missed a few days? No worries, just try again tomorrow.
