Within 15 days, I built a no-code prototype for building Excel file automations. Instead of recording Excel macros or writing VBA scripts, you can use ExcelParser.com to automate repetitive Excel tasks.
15 days to code ExcelParser.com prototype (There was a national holiday in the middle)
Say for example, you regularly download bank transactions (your bank doesn’t support APIs). You want to analyze those transactions with your other tools, but the downloaded format doesn’t fit nicely.
Every time you download the transactions, you need to make the same edits:
Instead of recording a macro or hiring a developer to write a custom script, you can build your own Excel parsing automation script at ExcelParser.com with a point-and-click interface. No coding is required.
I’m positive many people experience this similar frustration. Millions of people use Excel every day. A significant portion of them have repetitive Excel tasks. Of those, many dream of automating some portion of their Excel work.
Common solutions for automation include “recording a macro” or “getting someone to write a VBA script for you”. But almost on one accomplishes this.
Macros are difficult to record and edit. They also require you to save the file as a new “macro-enabled Excel file” (.xlsm). When someone else opens the file, they’re warned the file has embedded macros, unfortunately decreasing the user’s trust in the file.
Hiring a VBA expert on Fiverr also feels difficult, and sometimes comes with its own headaches of managing freelancers.
So instead of relying on macros and VBA, you can build your own automation script with an intuitive drag-and-drop user interface. You don’t require any coding knowledge.
If you see the site, you can immediately see it’s very basic. There’s no proper landing page. Simple link navigations. No branding, no logo. And very basic functionality.
