I want to build a business that will provide sizable income for my family. A SaaS application is one decent way to build a sustainable business.
I want to practice my technical coding skills. Particularly, there's a few technical frameworks I'd like to further practice with:
React
styled-components
framer-motion
AWS Amplify
Github API
OAuth
Stripe
Ads(?)
I want to have another business attempt under my belt, even if it is very likely to fail. I want to try and fail, rather than not try.
...live stream?
Create content while I'm building: I'm not confident this business idea is a super great idea. But, if I can create content and assets while I build it along the way, then it'll make the effort more worthwhile. Possible content includes:
videos
blogs
how-tos on specific content, like how to integrate Stripe payments, how to start a React app, etc.
Share questions and problems: I'm certain many of the questions and problems I'll face when building this SaaS app are common problems faced by others. I believe people may feel less lonely when they see someone facing the same problems.
Get feedback: I can get feedback from watchers as I'm building the product. It's better to build in public than in private.
Get feedback on general product road map. What feature would you like to see? What problems are you facing when working with Github issues and organizing them?
Get feedback on my own work process. How would you code this differently? How would you more quickly get a an MVP up?
I imagine building a product in private is like chopping down trees in a forest. If no one knows it's built, does it really exist?
If a tree falls in the forest, and there’s nobody around to hear, does it make a sound?
Connecting with the startup community: I want to give back some of the knowledge that I’ve accumulated. Hearing how others are moving along with their own startups.
